Pharmacy Manager
Fort Erie & St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada | Full-Time, Permanent | 12-Hour Shifts (Not required to work on Statutory Holidays)
Hourly Rate: $60.00 – $67.00/hour + 15% Bonus + Signing Bonus up to $35,000 + Full Benefits
About the Role
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including supervising staff, managing performance, and ensuring financial and operational success. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership accountability, ensuring compliance with Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) regulations and company policies while delivering exceptional pharmaceutical services.
Leadership & Operations:
- Supervise and provide guidance and direction to Pharmacy staff.
- Responsible for hiring and managing the performance of all Pharmacy staff.
- Create Pharmacy schedules and arrange for vacation and shift coverage.
- Accountable for the financial and operational success of the Pharmacy department.
- Obtain and review budgeted sales and net contribution of the Pharmacy.
- Identify and report sales opportunities both internally and externally.
- Review and control costs at all levels within the Pharmacy.
- Ensure Pharmacy Operations follow OCP and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure medication and behind-the-counter inventory levels are adequate to meet patients’ needs.
- Attend meetings as assigned.
Patient Care & Clinical Services
- Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive interaction.
- Administer vaccinations and other activities as legislated by the Pharmacist Scope of Practice Program (Point-of-Care testing, Prescription Modification and Advancement, Minor Ailments, etc.).
- Provide pharmaceutical professional services such as Medication Reviews, Follow-Ups, and Minor Ailment prescribing.
- Provide timely and positive resolution to patients’ needs and prescribers’ requests and issues.
Training & Community Engagement:
- Provide ongoing training for all new and existing Pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, assistants, students, IPGs).
- Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.).
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, licensed to provide Patient Care in Ontario (OCP).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail Pharmacy environment.
- Injection Certification and CPR Certification.
- Strong personal computing skills (MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word) as well as working knowledge of HealthWatch Pharmacy computer system.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $60.00 to $67.00 per hour. Additional compensation includes a 15% performance bonus, a signing bonus of up to $35,000, and full company benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
